Adam Wiese Named to World Architecture Festival's 40 Under 40 North America

October 23, 2025

Recognized as an emerging leader in architecture, »Æ¹ÏÉçÇø’s Adam Wiese has been named to the World Architecture Festival's 40 Under 40 North America list.

»Æ¹ÏÉçÇø; Design is proud to announce that Adam Wiese, AIA, NCARB, has been named to the . Now in its inaugural year, the program — a collaboration between WAF and The Architect’s Newspaper — honors 40 emerging architects across the United States, Canada and Mexico whose work reflects innovation, sustainability and design excellence.

An architect and partner based in »Æ¹ÏÉçÇø’s Omaha office, Wiese has contributed to influential design efforts across the country in various markets. His work is rooted in user experience and challenges conventional design norms, often merging academic research with architectural practice to create sustainable and engaging environments. Notable among his recent work is the Scott Engineering Renovation & Link Replacement at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where Wiese guided the design of a custom curtain wall system that balances daylighting and energy performance. The facade features recessed glazing patterns that animate the building's exterior and symbolically stitch together two engineering facilities — a physical and visual statement of innovation and transparency.

Wiese also leads »Æ¹ÏÉçÇø’s involvement in The KANEKO’s annual creative camps, community-based design camps that promote inclusive, hands-on learning for emerging designers. The 2024 camp explored biogenic materials as part of a sustainable, hands-on learning experience, inviting students to design a speculative sculpture garden using rammed earth as the primary construction method. The project demonstrated the environmental potential of natural materials and encouraged future designers to consider regenerative practices in their work.

A consistent voice within »Æ¹ÏÉçÇø’s internal design and innovation groups, Wiese contributes to cultivating a culture of curiosity and exploration. In 2025, he was elevated to partner at »Æ¹ÏÉçÇø, a recognition of both his leadership and his continued impact on projects and people. Outside of his professional work, Wiese teaches in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln architecture program.

The 40 emerging architects were selected by an international jury comprised of members from the WAF and The Architect’s Newspaper. Each of the winners’ work will be exhibited from November 14 to 16, 2025, at the World Architecture Festival in Miami, Florida, and will be featured in an upcoming issue of The Architect’s Newspaper.
